Leadership in Medicine for the Underserved (LMU) 

The LMU certificate program is a unique opportunity for third and fourth year medical students to learn about and volunteer in communities that are underserved and vulnerable. 

​

During third year students are place at the Flint Community Campus for their rotations, and are partnered with a community organizations ranging from a Whaley Children's a home for children in the foster care system, the public school system, Odyssey House a rehabilitation center, during the year the students meet weekly at their organizations and volunteer doing a variety of different tasks all while observing the unique culture and how they meet the needs of the population they serve.

During the fourth year students have the opportunity to travel abroad for their international experience through the Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children (FIMRC).
